Adsorptive Separation of Brilliant Green Dye from Water by Tartaric Acid-Treated Holarrhena antidysenterica and Citrullus colocynthis Biowaste

Holarrhena antidysenterica (Ha) and Citrullus colocynthis (Cc) biowaste from indigenous Pakistan resources was used to remove toxic brilliant green (BG) dye aqueous solutions in a batch mode. Tartaric acid chemical modification gave promising results than the nonmodified forms of biowaste. Surface characterization carried out by FT-IR SEM. The optimum conditions for elimination Ha-tartaric modified (Ha-Ta) were 1.8 g, 45 minutes, 4.0 pH; 40°C, 100 rpm with Cc-tartaric (Cc-Ta) 1.6 6.0 150 solution shaking rate, which results. Equilibrium data raw chemically followed Langmuir model indicating monolayer chemisorption. Qmax values found be 55.24 mg/g, 112.35 50.50 79.36 mg/g Ha, Ha-Ta, Cc, Cc-Ta. Thermodynamic studies proved process spontaneous exothermic one. adsorbents can effectively utilized basic dyes, such as BG wastewaters.
